We accept a variety of payment methods: all major credit cards; PayPal; personal checks or U.S. money orders (send to Mount Hope Books, P.O. Box 644, Mansfield Center, CT 06250). We realize that our customers may have varying levels of comfort with transactions via the internet or via e-mail. If you wish to pay by credit card and are more comfortable completing the purchase and providing your information over the telephone, please let us know by calling 860-429-3983.
Books may be returned for a refund of the book price within 14 days of receipt, provided condition has not been altered. We request the courtesy of an e-mail giving notice that a return is on its way. Customers will assume responsibility for return postage unless the book is materially different than presented in the listing (ie. wrong book, inaccurate description).
The U.S. Postal Service is our preferred carrier. United States domestic orders will ship via USPS Media Mail @ $4.00 (4-12 days) or Priority Mail (2-5 days) @ $11.00.
Canadian orders will ship via First Class Mail International (air) . Our default shipping quote is for a 2.4 lb package @ $23.30.
All international orders will ship by air as USPS surface delivery is no longer available. The shipping charges quoted at check-out are based on the average weight of 2.2 pounds. Occasionally, we may contact customers to request additional shipping fees when ordering heavy and oversize books, or book sets.
International customers also have the option of contacting us by e-mail for a shipping quote based on the exact weight of the item rather than an average weight. In that case, customers would not order through the shopping cart. Mount Hope Books would initiate an e-invoice from our credit card processing company to the customer's e-mail address and the customer would follow the instructions for secure payment.
All book images on our website are scans or photos of the actual book in our inventory, not stock photos.
We will gladly place a hold on a book for up to 10 days, pending payment.
