Second page features an ad for Harriet Beecher Stowe's 'new serial: My Wife and I; or Harry Henderson's History with a complete introductory chapter; which was just published in the Christian Union, to be continued throughout 1871. Also includes Overland Chapters 12-14 by J. W. DeForest; Fort Pickens by Gideon Welles; and the monthly column by Mark Twain entitled 'Memoranda" ( his last 'Memoranda' was published in April 1871). The Galaxy was absorbed by The Atlantic Monthly in 1878. 27196
